Bear Den officers elected

UCA students recently elected the 2008 executive officers for The Bear Den, ÍøÆØÃÅ's largest student organization. The Bear Den is responsible for promoting school spirit and organizing ÍøÆØÃÅ pep rallies, Homecoming and Midnight Madness, among many other things. UCA development institute assists New York town

Jennifer Tanner, the managing director of the Strategic Growth Institute & Community Development Institute at ÍøÆØÃÅ, recently completed a survey that led the town of Alabama, New York to proceed with a feasibility study of the town's ability to support a manufacturing business park. Former NAACP president to highlight Black History Month at ÍøÆØÃÅ

Kweisi Mfume, the former president and CEO of the national NAACP, will be the featured speaker for ÍøÆØÃÅ's month-long celebration of Black History Month. UCA student is finalist in national business competition

A business plan and feasibility study by a recent ÍøÆØÃÅ graduate has been named among the finalists in the Small Business Institute Case of the Year competition. UCA professors receive $8,990 grant to strengthen school curricula

Debbie Barnes and Shawn Key of ÍøÆØÃÅ's College of Education received a $8,990 grant from the Arkansas Department of Education for a high school redesign collaboration project that is part of ÍøÆØÃÅ's Educational Renewal Zone initiative. Conway businessman establishes scholarship for new ÍøÆØÃÅ doctoral program

Retired Conway businessman Michel Fortier has donated $135,000 to the ÍøÆØÃÅ College of Education to establish the Mary Jane Fortier Memorial Distinguished Scholars Fund. Monte Coleman named 2007 Elijah Pitts Award winner

The Conway Athletic Awards Commission has awarded former ÍøÆØÃÅ football All-American Monte Coleman the 2007 Elijah Pitts Award for career achievement. Coleman starred for the Bears from 1975 to 1978. In 1979, he became the first ÍøÆØÃÅ player drafted by the NFL.
