Attend one general session during Welcome Week

There are lots of important and fun events to attend during Welcome Week. We’ve highlighted some of them in the other domains, but this item is a catch-all for other sessions. If you attended any of these sessions during Welcome Week and scanned in using your CubConnect event pass,Ìýyou have already earned credit for this item.Ìý

Visit one academic support service

Student Success ServicesÌýoffers an incredible amount of support to help you succeed in the classroom. At some point or another, you will utilize one of their services as a ÍøÆØÃÅ student. Recognizing when to ask for help is an important step but knowingÌýwhereÌýto go is the next step. It’s a good idea to utilize at least one of these servicesÌýbeforeÌýyou need help. You’ll only need to take advantage of one of these services to earn credit for this item, but you should continue to utilize all as many times as you need them.

• • Tutoring and Academic Support ServicesÌý(TASC)Ìýis located in the Torreyson Library on the 2nd floor. They offer tutoring from ÍøÆØÃÅ students on general study skills and for many lower-division core and humanities courses (Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Logic).
    • To earn credit:ÌýMake an appointmentÌýon the websiteÌýwith a tutor and scan in when you arrive.

• • Success CoachingÌýconnects you with a peer coach to share practical suggestions on how to improve your effectiveness, develop better time management, establish clear goals, and manage stress.

• • °Õ³ó±ðÌýCenter for Writing & CommunicationÌýcan help you through the composing process for and writing or communication project or presentation. The offer in-person, video, and email appointments. They are location in Thompson Hall, Room 109.
    • To earn credit:ÌýMake an appointmentÌýon the website with a CWC tutor and scan in when you arrive.

• • Academic Success WorkshopÌýseries offers numerous workshops to help address common areas of student concern.ÌýReview the extensive list of workshopsÌýhosted by ÍøÆØÃÅ faculty and staff to identify which one(s) could benefit you and check back each semester as presentations change.
    • To earn credit:ÌýShow up on time and scan in; stay the entire length of the presentation

Participate in one wellness activity

UCA offers many wellness related activities to improve and support all dimensions of wellness. While many of the options below are a part ofÌýCampus Recreation & Wellness, there are additional opportunities to earn this item listed below.

• Walk theÌýJewel Moore Nature Reserve Trail.ÌýClick here for a trail map.
• Attend aÌýgroup exercise classÌýat the Thomas C. Courtway Student Recreation Center
• Participate in anÌýintramural sport
• Check-out gear fromÌýCampus Outdoors Gear Locker
• Attend the training on September 2 from 12-1pm
• Receive an appropriate vaccination for you from theÌýStudent Health Clinic
• Give blood at – & , 10am-3pm, in front of the Student Center. More dates to follow!

Attend a campus fair

Throughout the year there are numerous fairs hosted on campus, each with a special focus.

Complete a career assessment

Academic Advising offers aÌýÌýto help you evaluate which ÍøÆØÃÅ major(s) align with your personal interests. Careers Services offersÌýFocus 2 Career AssessmentÌýto help you explore occupations to make more informed career decisions.
When taking an assessment, be sure to enter your BearCard and ÍøÆØÃÅ email address when compling the assessment.

To earn credit:ÌýUpload the page of your report with your name included and complete the attached form that requires uploading the picture.

Watch a StudentLingo Workshop

Student Success ServicesÌýoffers online workshops hosted throughÌýStudentLingo. Workshops are available 24/7 and are hosted on a variety of different topics to help your development in and out of the classroom.

To earn credit: Complete a workshop and we will work directly with Student Success Services to track and update your progress on a monthly basis.
