UCA Unplugged XI set for Friday

The ÍøÆØÃÅ Division of Student Services and Student Activities Board are sponsoring the 11th Annual ÍøÆØÃÅ Unplugged Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in the Student Center Ballroom. The concert will begin with a featured performance by New Orleans blues musician Owen Tufts along with Arkansas acoustic musician Buddy Case. Tufts, also known as Big Daddy ‘O’, has been playing blues, folk and rock music for the last 30 years.

Case is an accomplished singer and songwriter, but he excels with his finger-style guitar playing.

Following the featured performance will be open mic for ÍøÆØÃÅ students, faculty and staff. Open mic participants will perform two songs each. Individuals interested in performing at open mic should contact Jack Gaiser at jackg@uca.edu. Open mic will be limited to the first 12 acts.

Admission for ÍøÆØÃÅ Unplugged is $1 for ÍøÆØÃÅ students and $5 for faculty, staff and the general public.

A ÍøÆØÃÅ Unplugged XI CD will be sold with all door and CD proceeds to benefit the ÍøÆØÃÅ emergency student loan fund. Free coffee and desserts will be provided.

Other groups assisting with ÍøÆØÃÅ Unplugged include the ÍøÆØÃÅ Circle K Club and ÍøÆØÃÅ Resident Student Association. Channel 6 will record the event for future broadcast.
