Get Your Brightspace Course Ready for Summer & Fall
As we move closer to full implementation of Brightspace, now is the time to make sure your live course shells are ready for students.
In Brightspace, you may notice several types of courses in your course list: your sandbox, training resources, migrated courses, and live course shells. The most important thing to know:
- Students only see your live course shell
- Content must be copied into that live course shell before the semester begins
If your course looks empty, don’t worry! You’ll simply need to move your materials from your sandbox or migrated course into your live course.
Quick Overview of the Process
- Go into your live course shell
- Navigate to Course Admin
- Select Import/Export/Copy Components
- Search for your existing course (sandbox or migrated)
- Copy all content OR select specific items
- Review and adjust dates as needed
Once copied, be sure to review your course layout and confirm everything appears as expected before publishing to students.
