The ÍøÆØÃÅ College of Education Associate Dean, Dr. Jason Trumble, now also serves as the President of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE). Last year, he was elected President-Elect, and at the conclusion of the SITE 2026 Annual Conference, he assumed the role of SITE President. Dr. Trumble will serve a 3-year term as president of this international research organization. The 2026 SITE Annual Conference was held in Philadelphia, PA, where Dr. Trumble delivered the final Keynote address of the week, titled “Empowerment, Connection, and Support: Powerful Leadership for Navigating Seismic Change in Technology and Teacher Education.”
Dr. Trumble’s vision for SITE is to build on the past 36 years of incredible work and productivity while expanding SITE’s international reach and strengthening its capacity to be the leading voice in the ever-changing digital age. For years, SITE has been known as “The Friendly Society,” A moniker started by Dr. Ian Gibson and further emphasized by SITE Past President Dr. David Slykhuis. Dr. Trumble is passionate about elevating SITE as a friendly space for education stakeholders to engage in and disseminate rigorous research, together moving teacher education toward positive change.
SITE will host its online interactive research collaborative “SITE Interactive” in the fall, and the annual conference is planned for March 15-19, 2027, in Nashville, TN.

SITE–Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education promotes the development and dissemination of theoretical knowledge, conceptual research, and professional practice knowledge through the SITE conference, books, collaborative projects with other organizations, and the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education. SITE (founded in 1990) is a society of AACE–Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education. AACE (founded in 1981) is an international, educational, and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, theory, and quality of learning and teaching at all levels with information technology.
The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education is an international association of individual teacher educators and affiliated organizations of teacher educators in all disciplines who are interested in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education and faculty/staff development.
